Reporting to the Lead Engineer, the Calibrations/Mechanical
Engineering Technician is primarily responsible for the
calibration, troubleshooting, coordination of repair, maintenance
and process improvement of instrumentation and mechanical
equipment, used to support production including but not limited to
the Stork Filling Systems. Additional responsibilities may require
working with project and utilities staff to support production
needs and organizational initiatives.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform instrument calibrations in accordance with established
standards (NIST HB44, HB112, ITS-90, etc.), troubleshoot, and
coordinate preventative maintenance and repairs for all CCP
Instrumentation to support both production and non-production
related equipment in including but not limited to Stork Filling
Systems. (Estimated 20 hours per week)
- Manage refurbish and calibration of mechanical devices for Stork
Filling Systems including but not limited to filling valve, seal
head, PnP, H2O2 manifolds, chain slats, and Decobox assemblies.
(Estimated 20 hours per week)
- Manage equipment calibrations, programmable device configurations
and systems hardware to resolve maintenance issues, improve
equipment reliability, minimize equipment downtime and support
improvement activities for productivity and yield enhancement.
- Assist in the execution of process validation, tooling or package
development testing to support organizational efficiency and
process improvements.
- Collaborate with engineering and other cross functional groups to
ensure equipment downtime is communicated in a timely fashion and
that decisions are in alignment with productions needs and overall
company initiatives.
- Support new Instrument and Mechanical installation and
upgrades.
- Manage Data Entry and Verification.
- Continuously Improve Calibration routines and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with corporate and plant safety standards and
with applicable regulatory requirements while following the
company's Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Maintain calibration Standards and send equipment in for yearly
certifications.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications -
- Associates Degree in Electronics, Instrumentation, or equivalent
experience.
- 4-5 years of electrical experience in a food or beverage industry
environment.
- Demonstrated Electrical aptitude and abilities to analyze a wide
variety of sensors, troubleshoot problems, and assist with
maintenance needs
- Demonstrated working knowledge of electrical, mechanical and
controls aspects of factory automation systems and the integration
of the devices used.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical P&ID
drawings, and applied knowledge operating systems up to 480VAC.
- Demonstrated detail orientation, self-motivation skills and
ability to multi-task.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in both verbal
and written formats
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations
by promoting and maintaining an inclusive work environment and
culture that is respectful and accepting of diversity.
Preferred Qualifications
- 7+ years of electrical experience in a food or beverage industry
environment
- Bachelor's Degree in Electronics, Instrumentation
- Working knowledge of Aseptic industry.
- Working knowledge of the operation of multi-meters, amp probes,
and other troubleshooting equipment.
- Ability to work independently and as a team member; take
initiative; use good judgment; and communicate effectively.
- Available to work weekends as required, including overtime, and
responding to calls outside normal business hours.
